Appointment Policies
​Please note: the following policies are to give potential clients an understanding.  Policies for clients are more detailed with prices and expectations, and are printed and signed at the consultation, installation or retightening appointment.

Please shampoo and separate your locks within 48 hours of your appointment.  Do not apply any moisturizers or conditioners prior to your appointment.  These products make the locks slippery and may increase the retightening time.
Your appointment should always be scheduled before you leave to ensure that your maintenance stays on an appropriate and healthy schedule for your locks.  Last minute appointments are difficult to accommodate and therefore not recommended.
Please arrive on time.  If you are running late please let me know ahead of time.  If you are more than 15 minutes late your appointment may need to be rescheduled. 
Please cancel or reschedule your appointment no less than 24 hours of your appointment or a $30 cancellation/rescheduling fee will be added to your next appointment.  It is understandable that unforeseen events take place so to avoid additional charges please keep the lines of communication open.
​**NOTE: Star Lox’s 24-hour cancellation rules apply only to regular retightening appointments.  A 48-hour notice is required to cancel Sisterlocks™ installation appointments.  Failure to cancel or reschedule will result in forfeiture of the $120 deposit.
If you are sick please reschedule your appointment.  If you come in exhibiting signs of illness I will reschedule your appointment.  Thank you for your consideration.
Cash is the preferred form of payment and is the only accepted payment for the installation.
Cash, debit/credit are acceptable forms of payment for retightenings and product purchases.

Installation fees are determined at consultation and qualifying appoinments. *** 
Checks may be accepted for $120 deposit on Sisterlocks™ installation.  This may be mailed in if not presented at time of consultation and must clear prior to the installation appointment.  A $35 additional fee applies to all returned checks.


All payment is due in full at the time of service.  Installation payment is due in full at the start of day 1 of the installation.
Star Lox reserves the right to refuse services to clients who do not comply with the policies.
